The human psyche, and its collectively-shared unconscious, inherited mythological archetypes with different stereotyped behaviors and viewpoints (Feminine : Masculine), embedded in our personal perceptions and world perspectives.
It’s probably not news to you, that comparisons have been made between the Feminine Archetype aligning with America’s Democratic Party, and the Masculine being more represented by Republicans. Today, Democrats are seen as inclusionary, valuing centralization, and primarily focused on maintaining cooperative relationships. Whereas Republicans tend to encourage decentralization, exhibit more regressive traits, employing obstructionism and exclusion to make decisions, while preferring to perpetuate patriarchial trends to maintain their power, control, and unilaterally-created status quo.
What isn’t generally understood, from our 2016 and 2020 general elections, are which demographic groups were most influential. They were white urban/often college-educated women, and minorities-of which the voting majority were also women.
Let’s put these observationsinto an evolutionary perspective. Which gender (archetype and political party) projects a more compassionate, progressive and constructive platform (i.e. immigration reform, healthcare reform, disability justice, reproductive rights, the environment, LGBTQ rights, racial equality, workers’ rights, and tolerance)? Which gender’s archetype demonstrates more humaneness (i.e. compassion, civility, kindness, working in other-centered groups forming families, clubs, and communities), capable of moving not only our country, but our species, toward a more egalitarian, mutually beneficial, and less divisive, future?
The answer already reverberated across the world, on January 21, 2017, when American women’s voices echoed a civilization-old truth: women’s rights were, and would always be, human rights. Women definitively demonstrated to themselves, that a majorative increase in the Feminine Collective’s power base, was already here. This truth had been a reality for years, but not as apparent or organized as it became on the world stage, on that day. Why? Because from the beginning our votes had been intentionally, and consistently suppressed (i.e. through gerrymandering, polling site consolidations and closings, refusal to open polls on college campuses or Native American lands, ID exclusions, voter list purges, and voter intimidation). Meanwhile, women were witnessing the rise of Masculine-led domestic terrorism and increased self-disrespecting behaviors, (i.e. pedophilia, sex-trafficking, pornography, domestic violence, incest, and murders), soaring out of control by those most responsible for keeping us all safe…MEN!
Is it not obvious why such crimes, and barriers to development against women, persist? Our archetype seeks to adapt and evolve, while the other self-implodes. As long as men brazenly control our resources, and manipulate the systems to repress women’s businesses, organizations, issues, and self-determined decision-making, true equal rights will remain out of our inalienable control.
If history is written by its survivors, NOT its victims, is it not time for ours to be co-written by WOMEN, not exclusively the Patriarchy? WE/Women are so much more powerful than we think. And, to make that OUR reality, women must become primarily focused on launching other women everyday and in every way, for the survival of our species, our Feminine Collective, our planet, our country, and our individual selves.
